I believe passionately that the next generation of Australians can’t just rely on digging things out of the ground and that innovation is critical to our future prosperity. I’m driven by the desire to encourage Australia’s transition to a future-facing economy.
What I nerd out over
Pretty much everything. A big part of the reason I’m in VC is that ideas excite me, as does geeking out with subject matter experts. If that’s you, let’s chat! If not, point me in the right direction. I’m obsessed with audiobooks and podcasts. Every free moment I get—commuting, running, cooking, cleaning—I’m listening. I’m always looking for recommendations. Come at me with science, technology, history, philosophy and society. Or, better, something that makes me uncomfortable.
Where you’ll find me on the weekend
Either with my kids, in the ocean, or (ideally) both! I ocean swim a few mornings per week with the world-renowned Coogee Milkbottles. I’m a Bondi Iceberg. And I help out at Bronte Nippers.
What’s important to me
Being a great Dad and husband. My wife’s job is bigger than mine. We both want to give 110% to both work and our family and are constantly struggling to strike the right balance.
